This Privacy Policy describes how the MinaChan mobile application ("MinaChan", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. MinaChan is an AI chat companion app. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Process
- Messages you type. The text you send in chat is transmitted to our server so the AI can generate a reply. We do not ask for your real name, email, phone number, or any account registration.
- Technical data. Your device's IP address is processed temporarily to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse of the service.
- Local app data. Your conversation history and app settings are stored only on your own device (local storage). You can erase this at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
2. How We Use Information
- To generate AI responses to your messages.
- To operate, maintain, and protect the service (e.g. rate limiting and abuse prevention).
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your messages for advertising profiling.
3. Third-Party AI Providers
To produce replies, your message text is forwarded from our server to a third-party large-language-model provider (an AI inference service such as OpenRouter and its underlying model providers). These providers process the message solely to generate a response and are subject to their own privacy terms. We send only your message content — not your identity.
4. Data Retention
- Chat history is kept on your device and is removed when you clear app data or uninstall the app.
- On the server, messages are processed transiently to fulfill the request and are not used to build a personal profile of you.
- IP-based rate-limit records are short-lived and used only for abuse prevention.
5. Security
Communication between the app and our server uses encrypted HTTPS. While no method of transmission is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by the service.
6. Children's Privacy
MinaChan is not intended for and may not be used by individuals under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Your Choices
- Clear your local conversation history at any time via your device's app settings (Clear data / Clear storage).
- Stop all data processing by uninstalling the app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
